Kristyl - Together (1975)

Like A Bird So Free
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WLPDC92cOo
Cita: | A Louisville, Kentucky band, Kristyl cut just one album during their relatively brief existence. Originally released in 1975, ‘Kristyl’ was a totally homegrown affair, with only five hundred copies of the disc being pressed.
As the years inched by, the album was recognized for its raw brilliance and became a coveted collector’s item. |

The Third Estate - Years Before The Wine (1976)
a. Destiny
b. The Overcast
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5SwKGBZyvc
Cita: | Third Estate’s “Years Before the Wine” is an ambitious and intricate psychedelic concept album from 1976 about the French Revolution (!) which blends warm Southern summer sounds (the band were from Baton Rouge, Louisiana) with baroque song structures. Never fear, the serious subject matter is no match for the strong song writing and light, flowing music.
Stunning vocals from Fae Ficklin on the title track are lovely, but even without them this album would richly deserve its status as a psychedelic classic. Stark, intimate production, with tasty fuzz guitar, backwards tape-loop soundscapes and beautiful treated acoustic guitar, puts one in mind of the Ithaca/Agincourt/Friends trilogy from England. The sound of exploration is evident everywhere, as the band spreads its wings, and glorious harmonies flow forth. |
Cita: | This has become one of the most treasured albums in my collection, even though I only first heard it less than a few months ago. The unadulterated purity of seventies progressive rock runs like a clear mountain brook through these songs, and even after nearly wearing the grooves off the vinyl already I still haven’t tired of listening to it. |

The Nerves - Hanging on the Telephone (1976)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8Kh4wCiDz0
Give Me Some Time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKidhyqddQs
Cita: | The Nerves were an American power pop trio formed in 1974 and based in Los Angeles. The band only lasted a short time and self-released one self-titled four-song EP in 1976, featuring the songs "Hanging on the Telephone," "When You Find Out," "Give Me Some Time," and "Working Too Hard."
They were among the founding vanguard of the Los Angeles punk and pop scenes that eventually produced The Knack, The Beat and The Plimsouls, but perhaps the most notable legacy of the group is the song "Hanging on the Telephone," later covered by Blondie on their album Parallel Lines (1978).
Jack Lee - guitar
Peter Case - bass guitar
Paul Collins - drums |

Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers- Born to Lose (Found '77 Master)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxs3wMm-Jyw
All by Myself (Found '77 Master)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjyLXg6Jh-w
Cita: | L.A.M.F. (abbreviation of Like a Motherfucker) is the only studio album by the American punk rock band The Heartbreakers, which included Johnny Thunders, Jerry Nolan, Walter Lure and Billy Rath. It was released on October 3, 1977 by the British independent record label Track Records, and the music of the album is a mixture of punk and rock and roll. |
Cita: | The Heartbreakers had been trying to get a record contract in the United States since their formation in 1975.
In the autumn of 1976, Malcolm McLaren, who had informally managed the New York Dolls in their waning days, invited the band to come to England and participate in the Sex Pistols' Anarchy tour, along with The Clash and The Damned, who were replaced by Buzzcocks shortly after the tour commenced. The band accepted the offer, arriving in London on December 1, the same day that the Pistols swore at Bill Grundy on live, prime-time television, which precipitated the cancellation of most of the tour.
Stranded in England with little money after the Anarchy tour came to a halt, the band contemplated a retreat to New York, but their manager, Leee Black Childers, convinced them to stay in England, believing that they would be more successful there. After several gigs in London, Track Records offered the Heartbreakers a recording contract. |
Cita: | Mixing the recording was problematic. The band went to different studios, each member trying their own mixes. Each mix would be considered and rejected, after which band members returned to the studio to try to remix it. The band was later alleged to have used taxicabs to commute between London and Birmingham, billed to Track Records, to replenish their drug supply. The mixing sessions lasted through the summer of 1977, as they continued playing live. |
Cita: | The first edition of what is sometimes referred to as L.A.M.F.: The Lost '77 Mixes was released by Jungle in 1994. Eight years later, a remastered edition, appended with an MPEG video of "Chinese Rocks", was released. In 2012 Jungle released L.A.M.F.: Definitive Edition.
In 2021, Jungle located a copy master of the 1977 sessions that belonged to the co-producer, Daniel Secunda. It was released as L.A.M.F. the found '77 masters, firstly as a Record Store Day vinyl LP and then on CD together with a second disc of demo recordings. It was reported to not suffer from the original album's sound problems |

Dead Boys - All This and More (1977)

What Love Is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDV6ZSLzhtU
Cita: | The Dead Boys are an American punk rock band from Cleveland, Ohio. The band was among the first wave of punk, and regarded by many as one of the rowdiest and most violent groups of the era. They were formed by vocalist Stiv Bators, rhythm guitarist Jimmy Zero, bassist Jeff Magnum, lead guitarist Cheetah Chrome, and drummer Johnny Blitz in 1975, with the later two having splintered from the band Rocket From The Tombs. The original Dead Boys released two studio albums, Young Loud and Snotty, and We Have Come for Your Children |
Cita: | Steven John Bator (October 22, 1949 – June 4, 1990), known professionally as Stiv Bator and later as Stiv Bators, was an American punk rock vocalist and guitarist from Youngstown, Ohio. He is best remembered for his bands Dead Boys and The Lords of the New Church. |

Television - Venus (1977)

Marquee Moon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4myghLPLZc

Cita: | Shake Some Action is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Flamin' Groovies. The album was released in June 1976 by Sire Records. |
Cita: | Shake Some Action was the first album by the newly reconstituted version of the Flamin' Groovies, who had returned from a five-year hiatus during which lead singer Roy Loney departed the band, leaving guitarist Cyril Jordan as its de facto leader. During that period, the Groovies had released three singles, all recorded in 1972 while the band was living in the UK, under contract to United Artists Records, and being produced by Dave Edmunds. |
Cita: | The band drastically reshaped their musical style, stripping down the blues and rockabilly influences of their previous work in favor of a more retro, guitar-oriented power pop style emulating that of the 1960s British Invasion scene |

Death - Politicians In My Eyes (1976)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLN7JQZB_kE
Keep On Knocking
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4ZJ65oxyQQ
Cita: | Death was an African American hard rock / proto-punk band formed by the brothers Bobby, David and Dannis Hackney in Detroit, Michigan in 1971. Death only released one overlooked 7" single before breaking up in 1977. |
Cita: | On February 18, 1975, Death recorded seven songs written by David and Bobby at Detroit's United Sound Studios with engineer Jim Vitt. According to the Hackney family, Columbia Records president Clive Davis funded the recording sessions but implored the band to change its name to something more commercially palatable. When the Hackneys refused, Davis ceased his support. The band only recorded seven songs instead of the planned dozen. The following year they self-released a single taken from these sessions on their label Tryangle Records. The single "Politicians in My Eyes" b/w "Keep On Knocking" saw a run of only 500 copies. |
Cita: | In 2009, Drag City released all seven Death songs from their 1975 United Sound sessions on CD and LP under the title ...For the Whole World to See. |
